  • Routing hydraulic sram rival through new handlebars

I’m going to get some new prime carbon gravel bars which have internal cable routing to replace stock bars.
Shifting is wireless so it’s just the brake cables I need to sort. I’m trying to figure out if I can do this myself or get a shop to do it. If I disconnect the hoses from the levers, route internally and reconnect, assuming I dont have to shorten the cables then what are the chances I need to re-bleed? Would I get away without? I’ve not had sram before so don’t have the bleed kit (also not a fan of messing with dot5 fluid)

    Cheers

I wouldn’t disconnect & reconnect without bleeding afterwards. You’ll always lose at least a drip or two of fluid (or the whole reservoir) which will introduce air.

Squeeze the pads in, disconnect, then push apart when reconnected. Might get away with it. I have.

I’m about to do something similar when my new frame gets off the boat.

I’d say no chance looking at this
