A bunch of us are heading down to the Lakes in May and the only accommodation we can get hold of is the Borrowdale YHA. Does anyone have any good route suggestions from the YHA? We were going to do the classic Borrowdale bash but that would mean having the big climb half way round (if we start from Borrowdale) rather than at the start (if we go from Keswick).
Any suggestions?

I don’t see what difference it makes. Head straight up the hill past ashness bridge and carry on from there. When you get back to Keswick from Catbells, you can either do 2-3 miles on road or head up and finish with Walla Crag.

Alternatively, you could do the 4 passes – you just have a bit more road work to do either end.
