Got the Halfords Exodus roof bars out of cobwebs >6 years for use at this weekends Graythwaite enduro trip.
The long reach bespoke torque tool is nowhere to be found.
    Halfords apparently don’t sell spares.

    Long shot –
Anyone know of an exact same equivalent? That’s in stock. In Derby.
I know Thule did a similar one but no idea if it fits even if I could find one.

    Single point non spareable failure.
    Designed in obsolescence.
Basically going to have to get a whole new bar set to replace the perfectly good bar set. Grrr.

The Thule one is just a hex key.

    Damn. Thanks for confirming.

The Exodus one is a six point curvy spline, which would probably be bodge-able by a Torx key, except it’s got a lump of metal in the centre meaning it needs to be a tube tool.
Fantastic design for security. So secure even the owners can’t use it.

If it can be bodged with a torx bit could it work with secure Torx bits?

    Secure torx bit?

    Just googled.
It might in fact be exactly that – a torx security bolt head.

I’ve bodged torx bits by filing notches in the flats of an allen key in the past. That’s probably not very helpful given that you need the hollow version, but might be worth bearing in mind.
