Quick one for the hive, I’m sure this is correct but can a pair of solo air 29″ pikes be reduced from 140mm to 120mm.

I always thought the pike travel reduction was just a case of dropping in a new shaft, and there was 10mm difference in the travel you got depending on wheel size. I.e. 26″ 140mm, 27.5″ 130mm and 29″ 120mm were all the same shaft.

Seems now that the part numbers in the service catalogue and online don’t include the 29″ measurement and I’m sure they used to… can I just bang in the 26″ 140mm/ 27.5″ 130mm air shaft and all will be well?

Yes you can. My mate increased his from 120 to 140 and still has the part to reduce back.

    You need 26″ 150, 650B 140, 29 120. The 29er chassis is 20mm longer than the 650 one, hence the longer jump.

I’ve got one of these in the garage (not for sale) which I removed from my 26″ pikes when I upped the travel to 160, I can check the part number if you need.
