I’ve got one of the above – it was new late February 2020. It had a Megneg upgrade that I fitted at some point in the summer but hasn’t had anything else done to it.

I’m thinking it’s more than due a service – probably a 200 hour one rather than just a 50 hour aircan service.

I’ve never opened up a shock in its entirety before – is this an easy job / does it need any specialist tools?

Looking at TF tuned there’s not much cost difference between a 50 hour kit and 200 hour kit – so I’m assuming it’s mostly just some extra rubber seals and glide rings….but maybe there’s more to it than that?

i believe rock shox service institutions are on their website. you’ll need some specialist tools.

I was just looking through them but got bored. Was wondering if anyone has done it / found it easy or hard etc.

I’m tempted to say sod it I’ll just do an aircan service and stop at that. Just ride the shock until it dies then buy a better one as it’s all but the most basic air shock that Rockshox make.

Not familiar with that particular shock. How do you pressurise the IFP? Schrader valve and shock pump or needle and nitrogen tank?

Its a fairly basic shock and pretty good for not needing lots of specialist bike tools as far as a bike shock goes.

All the tools needed are listed in the service manual, which is step by step with pictures, so you can get an idea if you can use an alternative tool.

The 200h kit has the damper seals as well as the air seals.

How do you pressurise the IFP? Schrader valve and shock pump or needle and nitrogen tank?

Through a Schrader valve core, but you need a RockShox adapter which fits on a standard shock pump.
