    Just back from a 50’s Rock’n’Roll night.

Invited by a neighbour, huge Phoenix Nights style social club in Accrington…..oh the glamour.

Proper good do, great band, brilliant venue, cheap drinks, couple of hundred punters there, most wearing the gear and many of a certain age. 🙂

    A genuinely excellent night out.
To top it all off nicely, Mrs Spanner won £20 and a meal for 2 from a local chippy in the raffle 😀. Only in Accy….

Like the Northern Soul scene, there were folks of all ages there, family groups, two or three generations all happily enjoying themselves.

I had no idea this was still a ‘thing’, but I’m glad it is.

    Genuinely good fun.

    The Poplar club. 🙂

I used to go there before it was poplar…..
Many an artist found their roots there, then everybody twigged.

I heard it was a place many bands in the north branched out from

You get turfed out if they smell grass.
