Road shoe recommendations please?
I had the same issues with my Sidi’s and couldn’t afford mega ones, so bought a half size bigger Diadoras a couple of weeks ago. They are fantastic for width, comfort etc. No more cramps. Got them from CR. They are a bit bright but I didn’t care as they work for me. Sidis now sold.Posted 3 years agoeskayMember
Diadora for me as well (for my plate like feet).
My son suffers from the same affliction and I have just bought him some of these (best he has worn apparently!):Posted 3 years agotoronteMember
Specialized Road Comps are great. I’ve read somewhere that they have a purposely roomier toebox, which I find to be true. Really like the BOA system. Only complaint could be it doesn’t hold my heels very well when walking but hey, road shoes aren’t for walking around.Posted 3 years agomtbtomoMember
I just bought some Spiuk ZS15R’s. Haven’t ridden them yet but they have a ratchet strap and BOA lower down – seems to give a good range of adjustment.
Plus they’re heat mouldable in a domestic oven for a custom fit. Marketing guff or not I don’t know, but it could be useful.
Disappointingly, I tried some of the racier Specialized shoes (Road Pros?) and for the size I would normally be, they were just too pointy and squashed my little toes. I already have a set of the cheapest ones Road Sport(?) with just the Velcro straps and these are much roomier for the same size.Posted 3 years ago
