- road bike dilema
Not really sure what your problems are with Tiagra’s. You get what you pay for, but they work fine. If you really are short of cash, you can manage with just a Rear shifter. Are you sure you cannot fix what you’ve got, I’m just puzzled when you say you tried to remove a bolt and the shifter then failed?Posted 6 years agothomthumbMember
my 9speed tiagra shifters have given up on the bike.
the rear lost a bolt and in removing the bolt from the front shifter that has also failed! 😡
i NEED the bike as i’m supposed to be going on holiday with it next week (our holiday is semi based around me riding up some alps)
I can either take a fixed wheel (up alp d’huez yeah right)
I can’t really afford £200 for some shifters and aslo i am loathed to buy more 9speed tiagra when it’s clearly rubbish.
do i buy a bike off ebay with a 9speed groupo hoping it all works?
buy some microshift shifters?
Put some bar end shifters on my nice modern road bike?
help a man out. i could cry.
PS i also have a campervan to finsih before we go 😯Posted 6 years ago
