Need a new BB for my road bike. Currently an Ultegra one that has lasted 3 years as it is a summer bike so rarely gets used in bad weather.

Is there much benefit to a better BB. Given they last years on the road I could be persuaded to spend a bit more. Probably still not going to stretch to Hope prices so might need some recommendations of lower priced ones.

Or should I just replace it with an Ultegra one as it works fine.

lower priced versions aren’t worth it.

no matter how good they purport to be they aren’t as good as a proper ceramic set-up.

think ceramic speed, fsa ceramic or King.

Others have lasted just over a year before failing or feeling rough.

just my 2 pence but for the wattage savings I wouldn’t bother with the cheap ones

I’ve heard good things about the areozine ceramic bb. They are around 40 quid and come in various colours.
