Looking for the best riding (and possibly quickest way) to do a traverse of the north york moors from Osmotherly to Robin hoods bay in combination of both MTB and Road

Any tips or pointers on best off road bits would be appreciated

not sure on the whole route by bke, but from Osmotherly – Swainby – faceby – Carlton – Great Broughton towards kildale, just before Kildale head up Ingleby Incline and Bloworth crossing.
This takes you across to Blakey bank, there is a direct path that you can walk from here (Lyke Wake Walk) but for obvious reasons you can’t ride it……
1 section is probably unridable in the wet season anyway and 2 of the climbs are brutal to walk, even worse to carry a bike. And yes,I’ve walked it!

just to add, you don’t have to turn up toward the incline, you can head on road to Commondale and some savage climbs!

There is a good off-road coastal route from Whitby to Scarborough via RHB if that helps. Probably not.

Yes I’ve ridden that, not a bad ride! (if you like old railways!) does keep you off the A171 though
