Just been browsing the OS map, to see if the bridleways around Gisburn would link up to form a decent route. However, there’s a ford across the Ribble at Nappa (just off the A682, about 3 miles north of Gisburn). Anyone familiar with this? Should it be crossable in summer? Do I need to wear a lifejacket? Thanks!

I rode through a ford with a mate just the other night. We both got through but got very wet feet, the water needs to be very shallow to avoid you dipping your feet in while pedaling.

Also what we hadn’t considered was just how rocky the river bed was, certainly made it a challenge. But then that was the point, after all we could have taken the bridge alongside 😆
