If it was me and I had a few hours, I would drive to South Coast Devoran -(Less than 5 miles away and less than 20 mins away (google says 11 mins) Park up and have a gander at the creek and wonder where I might like to live and then head up the completely off road Poldice Valley route to North Coast Portreath.

You will then be on a delightful day out ending up at the Atlantic Cafe bar on the beach for a slap up burger/fish and chips and a well deserved pint or two of Atlantic Ale, whilst watching the surfers.
If you feel all Jumpy and Rad – the route goes just to the side of some woods (Scorrier (I think) with really obvious harder routes and the Quary you go through also has obvious harder routes, alongside the main route.
If you are driving 7 hours, you will want a gentle scenic ride where you get to see some real Cornwall, never see a car and there is also an excellent Cafe a little further on from “Richiiiiiii” run by some ladies in a farmhouse (it’s obvious) and they do an excellent mid way coffee and cake – which you might need by then. I would give Bissoe centre a miss – sorry R.
You will also have an excellent feel for the countryside and done a C2C – although a very short one. Trunks in the Camel back for the win.
