Tried to start a laptop that hasn’t been used for a few months. The battery was flat so I plugged it in. The laptop started but the battery wasn’t charging. I left it plugged in overnight but the battery still showed 0% and not charging.

Swapped the batteries with a working laptop and it worked fine and the previously working laptop wouldn’t charge the battery so it definitely is the battery and not the laptop.

So, is there anyway I can get it working again? HP Li-ion battery if that helps.

Li-Ion only last about 3 years regardless of how you treat them.

Buy a new one on eBay.
