Did any body ever have anything like this. My brother had a Giant Super Sierra back in the eighties, came with one of these on (had to do a quick sketch…couldnt find a picture of one anywhere!).
Basically you flip out the QR a bit, put your weight on the saddle and the spring compresses….flick the QR again and seatpost rises up again (quite quickly I seem to remember!).

I dont think Ive ever seen one since….anybody else recall seeing such a device?

That is mint. Get it made and charge £200 quid for them, most people on here would buy one.

Hite Rite – as above. Great idea, never really worked very well IME.

Can’t remember the name of it but I think they were re-released last year.

Use crayons in future for sketches please. Thanks for your co-operation.

I managed to use it quite efficiently…depends on how smooth your seatpost/seat tube interface was….

Nasty… I had one back in the day. Sooo much worse than a modern telescopic uppy downy post.

Did it keep the seat straight?

Found it! (edit:flamejob beat me to it!) Yes, seat post stayed pretty much straight forward…

They missed a trick selling them at $15.

Just googled them to see if I could find out any more info and found a post from Repack Rider, even Joe Breeze stopped using these once the Gravity Dropper came out, that’s a bit of a no vote.

I had one, 1987ish I guess. Didn’t use it for very long – as said above it needed a very smooth seatpost/seat tube interface to work well. It did keep the seat in line though.

Sorry GlitterGary they’re just prototypes at the minute.

Going into production with some finance from CRC.

I’ll take 02 vouchers though as prepayment.

Unless you can stop that rotating, it’s just a stupid idea.
