Is there any trial/free software that I can remove the sound from an MP4 file format film?

Someone in the company has created a demo film of a product we are developing and I’m planning to do an English voice over and I really don’t want to set up the demo again, so I was hoping to remove the sound from the file and record a new soundtrack.

All I have is the MP4 file.

    Too easy?

Depends what’s in it… try MP4Box; it’s CLI but there are a couple of guis for it, I think yamb is still free. Been a while since I did anything like that.

Just stick it in a movie editor, turn the volume down and overlay a new track?

+1, If you’re using a PC you’ll either already have Windows Movie Maker or will be able to download it for free.

Don’t think movie maker can open mp4 files so you’d need a converter.

The trick with MovieMaker works, many thanks!
