spilt up with the GF, she’s a technophobe so don’t know her way around an iphone, however she’s logged in using my apple ID. If I remote wipe her phone is it totally useless to her? I don’t want to lock the phone as such, just stop her accessing my contacts and using my itunes account.

Can’t you just change your password?

(edit, I have no idea if that’d stop what you need to stop)

IF it is running iOS6 (it almost certainly is) then remote erasing the phone will take it back to the “Start from scratch” screen as though it was just purchased.

The next version of iOS, 7, introduces a new remote erase option that lets you wipe the device AND require your apple id to be entered before the phone can be reinstalled.

If you remote wipe it she gets a blanked handset to start over again with.
