or even your local market, most markets have a safety footwear tool stall these days, I think the vest I bought were only a couple of quid each.

Aren’t they just bog standard hi-viz vests which you buy in any tool shop ?

Saw loads in the tool section of B&Q on sunday.

any high viz vest will work
The ones at ferry ports are very expensive and worth avoiding.

    why do you need four?

    halfords?
In fact wiggle might even sell them?

Don’t pay more than a few quid for them.

Got 4 on fleabay. AA branded ones £3.99 each. By law you have to have one for each occupant of the car. My sister stays in France, she drives a car with French plates. The Fliques stopped her last week to check she had one for her and her daughter. On the spot fine if you dont have one. Worth noting for the Mega Avalanche travellers.

..and you need spare light bulbs and the tools to fit them.

… and one vest needs to be easily accessible to the driver in the car itself (ie in the glovebox).

Surely not ? How preposterous ! This is the French Nanny State gone stark raving, health & safety mad !

And an outrageous attack on the civil liberties of a free-born Englishman.

The world now believes that everyone is invisible, without a high viz jacket.

There’s no way I would spot pedestrians next to a broken down car on the side of the road if they didn’t wear them – and even then it’s tricky. I think a flashing yellow hat would be safer – or even an inflatable juggernaut proof bunker.
