  • Red hubs, black rims, which spokes and nipples?

I’ve got a pair of bright red (painted not anodized) DT Swiss 370 hubs that I’m about to lace up to black Mavic XC717 Disc rims. I’m trying to decide whether to go with black or silver spokes and with black, red or silver nipples.

Any strong ideas on what to go for? Or pics of built wheels?

    Cheers,

Black spokes and red nipples? even better if you can get the nipples to match the hub.

Avoid alloy nipples if you want to be able to tension/true the wheels in a few years.

Spoke colour is a no brainer for me.

I hate Red, blue, green, purple etc. hubs and only really like black or silver but IMO silver DB spokes and black brass nipples go best with a black rim, silver spokes won’t look as shite when they become scratched (or even covered in mud) as black ones. oh, and most rims look way better with the decals removed too. (if you can be bothered)
