after the Northern soul thread this got me wondering about my vinyl in the attic .
not been played for 45 years will it be shite or will it have survived .

I have no good hifi system after being burgled a few years ago but do have the PC
what non selling vital organs to fund usb turntable is available .
have googled and seems to be a wide spread of snobbery and units on the market

Pro-ject Elemental USB. Simple, pretty cheap, decent cartridge and arm.
Would do exactly what you need no more, no less.
I bought one as a cheap(ish) 2nd player fir upstairs and am very impressed.

We have one of these – looks smart & sounds great:

    Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USBHC Turntable – about £230-£250 + cost of speakers

No need for a USB turntable, any turntable will do. Get a cheap audio interface like a Behringer u-phono ufo202. About £20.
