    Any top tips for MTB friendly self-catering in the Tweed Valley? Our family of four hoping to spend some time there in October.

    Absolutely the middle of nowhere. They have a good hosepipe which is the main thing.

    There’s a direct back door route to Glentress via the wind farm, if you don’t mind a couple of hundred yards of hike a bike.

    Glentress Hotel was very good when I stayed last year.

    There is loads of stuff listed on the Go Tweed Valley site https://www.gotweedvalley.co.uk/self-catering

    That place linked to above is nice – some friends of mine stayed there. However it is many miles of back forest road from Glentress forest – you would have to really like forest road and windmills!

    I’ve stayed at The Trail House (Glentress) and Innerhaven (Innerleithen) and can recommend both.
