I’d like Mrs MTG to be able to track me when I’m out on my bike.
None of the tracking apps I’ve looked at have the features I want.

Anything that constantly uses the phone’s GPS runs the battery down to quick.
If it needs switching on before a ride, I know I will forget.

So, what I want is either;

Something that will wake up once an hour, get a GPS fix, upload it to somewhere I can give her a link to, then go back to sleep.
I don’t need constant live tracking, all I need is for her to know where I was at the last hourly check.

Or;

Some way for her to “ping” my phone to get my position without me having to actively respond. I believe the emergency services can do this, is it possible for a civilian to do this with the phone owner’s prior permission?

I don’t find that tracking apps using GPS kill the battery.
