As far as hats go I think wool has been surpassed many times over.

For general use I love Turtlefur – first started wearing it skiing on the East Coast of the US where pretty much all my European ski gear wasn’t warm enough. Snow and Rock stock them.

Don’t think I’ve ever bought a winter/warm hat, but have several from the likes of Oakley, DaKine, Eider, Schoffel, Kjus, Salomon, Atomic, etc. All nice and toasty, but my Schoffel Cervinia hat is my current fave.

How about a variation on this dapper fella’s headgear, snapped at the World Beard Championships in Alaska..?
