Recommend me a kite
Another vote for HQ kites. We started off with a 1.4m HQ Symphony. We’ve now got 1.2m ,1.4m and 1.8m Symphonys (2 line kites) and a 2.5m HQ beamer (4 line).
The Beamer is a beast, way too much for my youngest (10) and I have to keep a tight grip of the oldest (13).
Into my first season of kite surfing with the eldest too this year, it’s getting very expensive……but great fun 😀Posted 4 years agorj2djMember
+1 for HQ kites. I have a 2.1m HQ Symphony Beach and whilst that would be too much for someone smaller, perhaps the 1.4m might be ok?
The bonus of those small foils is they pack down to virtually nothing and are fairly bomb-proof, unlike the kites of yesteryear with their rigid poles.Posted 4 years agoCaptainFlashheartMember
As above, how little is the little chap?
FWIW, as a starter kite, these are ace;
£15. Two liner, to get used to the idea of a ‘proper’ kite. Bombproof, and simple.Posted 4 years agojoemarshallMember
GFor 2, the only thing you’ll ever get anywhere near him flying for some time is a basic one line kite. Don’t but any of the ones recommended above if you actually want to fly it while he is there, it is hard enough to keep track of a single line and a toddle and aviod them strangling, let alone something that if he got tangled in it, could chuck him in the air. Big kites and toddlers don’t mix well.
I would buy your basic 1 line, cheap from a toyshop, I have a brookite diamond for that. Think something that costs an amount of money that you won’t care if a dog eats it / a toddler jumps on it or whatever.Posted 4 years ago
