- Recommend me a drill please..
Thst drill looks ok for what you’re asking for. Only issue is the single battery, wont be a problem for light mid diy use, but prolonged use if its his only drill, having to stop for an hour or so while the battery charges.
A liion charges in something like 20 mins, it gets to 80% charge really quickly and with liion batteries you can interrupt the charge. The makita charger gives you a light to signal 80% meaning you can give it quick partial charges and get plenty of work afterwards, so having one battery is fine for home use.Posted 4 years agoqwertyMember
Or, lighter, £70 cheaper and 2 batteries (1.3Ah as opposed to 3Ah)Posted 4 years agoDuane…Member
Dad needs a new drill, not sure if one to cover all this exists, but moon on a stick requirements as follows;
-Will be used for drilling into wood, brick, stone, as well as screw-drivering
-At least 1/2inch chuck
-Reversible and adjustable speeds
-Decent battery tech (I’m assuming li-ion), with good power and run-time
Had a really quick look and something like this looks decent?
As a side note, the drill will likely be kept in the garage which normally gets below 0*c in winter – will that affect (or help?) li-ions?
