5 Ice cubes
1 Lemon wedge
dash of Sugar syrup

Big beard…if you want to be fancy, garnish with a frozen raspberry.Last year 4 of us drank all the champagne laid in for New Year’s Eve on the 30th this way…cracking night!

Best made by the jug full, only thing that doesn’t give me a hangover.
Capirinha or Margaritas are staples at BigJohn Towers. I took a bottle of Cachaca up to the lakes last weekend on our annual long weekend (8 blokes) . Didn’t bring much of the bottle back as we were all doing shots. Until the YHA warden shouted at us for playing music too loud and drinking in the dorm.
A classic Martini is hard to beat. Gin & Ice, basically.
Black or white russian, even feels appropriately festive.
Or, snapping turtle- peach schnapps, blue curacao, orange juice and double fat cream- pour the cream carefully onto the top then give it a gentle stir to break it up into blobs, then drink through a straw. It’s like an alcoholic lava lamp.
Some of these sound bloody awful. French 75, 1 gin, half simple syrup, half lemon juice, topped up with champagne. Hits you like the eponymous artillery shell.
Gin & Ice, basically.
Whisper the word vermouth to it and bow in the direction of France.
