  • Rebound dial moving when compression changed on Monarch RT3?

    Hi,

Have just purchased a Monarch RT3 equipped bike (2015 model). Specialised with autosag if that makes a difference?!

When adjusting the compression between Open, Pedal and Closed the rebound dial rotates with the compression lever, maybe one click of rebound for every 120deg rotation of the compression lever? The same if moved clockwise or anti-clockwise?

Anyone else noticed this? Or is the lever/dial setup incorrectly?
Any help appreciated as it’s the first time on a full-sus, always been hardtail before.

    Cheers Phil

I had this on mine. I think i slightly tightened the larger of the small grub screws in front of the dials to make the revound knob harder to turn. Still sometimes moves but only by 1 click every few weeks.

My Fox RPL does this from new iirc, just go delicately on the knobs

mine did this when i first started riding it but i put it down to big numb fingers and am a bit more careful now so it doesn’t happen any more.

I’m starting to think this maybe the case with mine, thought I noticed it move today when I flicked the lever, but looked closer and tried again, seemed fine. I have found the rebound turned right up, and had thought that was due to the shock being new to me, and ‘tuning’ it whilst riding, but maybe not.

Mine did the same I just sprayed it with some 3 in 1 oil and it has never done it again.

Will keep an eye on it!

Seems to just move one click each time you move the compression lever, I’ll try a but of 3in1 or Gt85 see if its just dragging against the rebound dial!
