    Hello,

My rear shock is pretty old but I was able to service it almost yearly to keep it in good shape. It’s an old FOX CTD Float I think (label is gone) on a SC 5010 Mk II. But I’ve noticed recently that something was not right – it sounds like the rebound is not working, but if I compressed it by hand, it looks fine. I only notice the issue on the trail, and it feel like the rebound does not work if the compression is hard/faster – like after a reasonable small jump for example.  The shock come back to its full travel very quickly, and the first time I noticed it, I thought I broke the frame.

That’s the best way I can describe the problem – If somebody has a similar issue, I will be interested to hear from.

    thank you!

In need of a service and a new shim stack by the sounds of it.

Mine did something similar and a damper service sorted it.

Just send it off.  I had a metallic slurp and weak damping from my CTD in the Autumn.

It was barely more than a regular service at TF for whatever was wrong and it came back running better than it has in ages (and I’m pretty ok on air can servicing).

Thanks all, sounds like a trip to TF Tuned!
