So, with our budget of £22,000,000 was planning on a small erection in our back garden….
I’m worried our current brickie (Rusty-Trowel) is taking us for a ride?

Here’s his progress after 6 days. His “tea to brick ratio” is dangerously high, BTW.

And after another 4 days, he appears to have laid very few extra bricks.

I had a stern word, and he’s picked up the pace a bit – this is now after 14 days of work..

I told him to get on with the flooring – 67 thousand tonnes of concrete:

He’s finally built a corner, but TBH I’m not sure on the draft proof-ness of it all – opinions?

TBH I’m concerned I’m being take for a ride.
Should I call it all off, demolish, and start again??

    Help!!

Considering he’s hand making the bricks as well I’d say he’s doing ok.

No damp proof course? No membrane?
And have you tied in the piers and corners?

Shocking. Knock it down and get a pro in. Wrightyson could sort you out with a poured structure made of porridge I reckon…

Can’t quite see from the picture but are those corners quarter bonded. Also the brickie only has 3 finger and a thumb on each hand and looks like a bit of a meany. Just sayin like.

Has he demanded cash up front yet, or threatened anyone? Looks well dodgy to me!

Why lay a concrete floor over the existing floor, looks like a nice original feature and your covering it up with concrete !

    Bloody heathen 😉

I’d be wary of upsetting that fella, his hands look bloody large and he’s even doing press ups on the job by the look of it!!

You’re leaving yourself open to heartache and future damp problems with that method of construction. I’ve had these guys in and am very pleased with the results.

Fantastic job! But such a shame to cover such lovely cobbled stones, they dont even need weeding!

I thought i’d seen him before but I couldn’t put my finger on where then Jamie’s photo brought it call back. He asked for 50k up front gutted my house and left me with nothing. Steer well clear!

I think I’ve worked out where you went wrong:

So, with our budget of £22,000,000 was planning on a small erection in our back garden….

You’ve under budgeted for the scale of project, hence only dodgy tradesmen have taken you on…..

The last laborer involved in the project was only two, and to be honest was a liability on site. Walls knocked down without warning, the tipper was driven without care or attention, and he clearly wasn’t COSHH trained…..

Age discrimination in the workplace is now outlawed, so you’ll have to rephrase you complaints before submitting them to the tribunal.
