Struggling to find any details on Race Face torque settings but having looked through the manuals and website I can only find torque settings for the stem (turbine), which I believe might be for alloy bars as its quite a high torque figure – 8nm I think.

I know Renthal Carbons are 5nm but just want to see what everyone else has been using as do not want to do any damage/denting!

5Nm does seem to be the standard for stem clamps, you might be able to reduce that slightly with a 35mm setup though as you’ve got a larger interface.

I’m still trying to work out what the correct setup for brake and gear levers is though

5nm on my Thomson carbon trail bars, seems pretty standard.carbon paste application will stop the need to overtighten.

Carbon paste and just tight enough to stop them rotating – about 5nm.

Does carbon paste end up scratching the bars? Not that it will be seen I guess!

5 is adequate and won’t ruin the bars. No need for carbon paste at 5 either.
