    Morning all

So, downstairs loo light switch needs replacing. (Yes I have confirmed that its not the bulb or the light bulb fitting).

Current switch on the left, new switch on the right. Do the top wires go in the com or loop hole on the new switch:

Or will this switch not work?

    Ta in advance.

COM(mon). The loop isn’t connected to anything inside the switch, it’s there as an alternative to those appalling ceiling rose fittings.

Ta flaperon. That’s another DIY job about to be ticked off the list.
