I’m looking at installing PV while the FiT is still available, has anyone in Scotland (or better Edinburgh) done this to recommend – or otherwise – an installer?

Are the financial arrangements for solar PV in Scotland different? We were up there on holiday the other week and I was amazed how many solar installations there are everywhere; on roofs of houses, garages, outbuildings or special frames. Way more than anywhere I’ve seen south of the border. How come?

Home Energy Scotland is a govmt funded body / arm of Energy Savings Trust. As a result they do a lot more for “free” in terms of awareness raising and encouraging folk to install renewables. I’ve no doubt there have probably been more funds available to homeowners as well over the years, but nothing just now.
