Does anybody find that the sealant prevents the patch from sticking? Using Rema Tip Top patch & vulcanising solution (obvs) and Joe’s no Flats goo. I’ve made two atttempts to fix a (admittedly pretty large) hole. Is it the goo or my cackhanded puncture repair technique? Also the goo seems to be solvent based, I was wondering if that was why?

    Ha, boneless arms.

To answer the OP’s question IME it’s the sealant stopping the patch from sticking.

I experimented with sealant in tubes last year and eventually concluded the tubes were too thin to seal properly and it wasn’t worth the bother.

    YMMV
