Mega deal on a Fox DHX if you run a trunnion 205×65 flavour: https://www.bike-discount.de/en/fox-racing-shox-dhx-performance-2pos-adj-trunnion-shock-1

Only issue is the min order is €175 so you need to make it up with a pair of socks or something.

Ex Demos – Current version Levo SL Comp Carbon – under 3 grand. Dont wait around, theres not many left (one less, than there was this morning, in fact!).

I’ve seen them – they are mint. Under 100 miles. Barely look used. You’ll do more damage the day you buy it leaning it on the garage wall.  Ignore what it says on the website ref stock, you need to ring them – like, now. 1 sold on the phone whilst I was waiting in line. Will be gone by Friday I bet.

thanks @ogden, i’d wondered who amazon was price matching on the THH-1 T-handle set park tools,

shame the click n collect requires payment as british cycling has a 10% code instore. that seems to be valid alongside the park tools promo

Says you need to log-in to see the discount so appears that you need to be an existing EE customer?

Wow, that pixel deal is great, thanks! Is there a catch?! Am I tied to EE?! It also suggests I will be able to claim for a free set of wireless headphones…?

Thanks for the £229 Pixel 8a, amazing deal.

Strange setup though, the deal is only available via ee.co.uk and not via store.ee.co.uk, and the free earphones link takes me to a business-only deal. It looks like there is an equivalent personal deal though. It’ll be a nice bonus if it works.

Thanks for that, just ordered.  Been looking for a deal on the 8a and that is the cheapest by far.

And as mentioned in previous post theres a promotion for a free pair of Pixel Buds:-

BOGOF on OneUp EDC Lite tools (the one with the carrier that uses a normal star nut).

NEARLY pulled the trigger on this but… £15 delivery for a mini tool (well, two mini tools) seems a bit steep.

tempted, although i dont need one right now, i may do in the next year and usually just go for whatever moto or redmii type phone is decent value at the time.

is it worth getting one of these while theyre so cheap do you think?  i only use very basic functions, no need for AI or owt like that, just decent camera and usual phone/chat type use.

and are the free earbuds supposed to be any good?  might offset some of the cost if theyre better than the bog standard ones i have at the moment.

    cheers

if you want a decent video editor – lightworks have 60% off the pro perpetual version

makes it rather easy to stomach ( especially as i missed out the last version)  https://lwks.com/

you need to add the code LWKSBF24 on the payment screen (there is a button that says “i have a promo code”)

Rawvelo gels, bars and drinks currently have some discount codes, the headline being 40% off everything using 40over60. Highly recommended if you want energy or recovery products without a load of extra guff in them. The gels are my go to, either blood orange or passionfruit – both flavours actually taste really good.

Sadexpunk, did a bit of reading and looks like Google are doing OS updates for the 8a for 7 years so should be able the keep it for a good while. Maybe worth paying the £40 extra for the 256mb version though as it doesn’t have an SD slot and no doubt the app sizes and OS will continue to grow.

Just need to not drop this one!

what does that mean to the techno-ignorant please?  what happens when someone stops doing updates?  i have a redmi phone at the moment, no idea if it gets updates at all.  and 256mb.  do you mean Gb?  not sure id use even the 256 really as like i say i rarely use it for anything other than calls, whatsapp, messenger, internet and camera (photos stores on google photos).  i rarely download any new apps and im not a heavy user.

    thanks

    @sadexpunk

Check your current phone in the settings to see how much storage is being used. I wouldn’t consider myself a heavy user but checking it’s 78Gb being used.  My existing phone is 256 so no worries but for an extra £40 I would opt for 256 just for plenty headroom going forward if replacing it.

Very tempted by the Pixel 8a at that price but my current phone does what I need.

When the updates stop, it’ll mean things like your banking app, authenticator etc (anything needing to be secure), will stop working.

You might still be able to login thru the web browser but that also might not get security upgrades. So web shopping would be riskier.

Still ok to browse the web, set calenders etc though. I’d suspect in 7 years the battery would have minimal life left each day anyways.

It means nothing of the sort. I’ve a phone that’s well past it’s updated life still happily running banking apps etc. it just means your phone isn’t receiving security and such updates.

It’s not automatic, but if your bank does implement something new on the security front, they can and will stop supporting older phones

Google Pixels are some of the better options for android updates. They’ll likely be supported long after others aren’t. In most cases you might not get the latest android version but you’ll still get security updates for years – more than the normal life of a phone.

good point, just checked.  im on 114Gb of available 128gb, so itll be pushing it soon i guess.  or will i?  i dont know whats adding to that.  i suppose all pics/videos will as they stay in my gallery as well as google photos yes?

    thanks
