Great bit of kit for those of us who aren’t enough of a mechanical god to tell 6nm by feel, I use one for anything that’s carbon

    Thanks, ordered!

Need to do all the back end on my Cotic Flare as I’ve had to swap the stays over, so have been shopping about, at that price it’s worth a punt.

It’s a nice bit of kit – I’ve been using one on our group bikes and it seems solid enough. Don’t forget to wind off the tension each time you’ve finished using it (and try not to drop it!).

Looks just like one I’ve had for years, handy to have around.

The hanger alignment tool is £20 too – been after one for a while, with more gears a hanger slightly out causes all sorts of headaches. https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/x-tools-pro-gear-hanger-alignment-tool/rp-prod122319

The pro one is £45ish and has a smaller torque range (so I presume more accurate?)

does anybody know how the 2 compare?

My only complaint about the basic version is that I bought one before the latest price drop.

I have both the torque wrench and alignment tool, linked to.

Both are fine but have a couple of “features”.

The torque wrench, make sue you don’t move your hand radially when using it as it will move the torque setting without you realising. You can’t lock the adjuster in place like you can on the big wrenches you see.

On the mech hanger tool there is play in the main bolt. You kind of have to work around this (hard to explain how on here…) to get an accurate check done.

Both minor points, particularly on the torque wrench.

I use carbon wrenches instead as I don’t have any carbon parts. They snap at exactly 6nm  👍

Its getting a bit expensive though tbf.
