the snatch is “protected patrol vehicle” basically an armoured defender 110, it was developed for use in NI around about 1991 i believe.
mainly for use in rural patrolling and providing some degree of small arms protection for occupants. it was supposed to have a small amount of protection from IED’s and off-route mines, but as proved recently in afghan its useless against them.
it is believed to have inherited the nick name “snatch” from its preferred use by “snatch squads” when detaining suspects in “the troubles” in NI
The tender results will be published on this section 2 weeks after the Tender has finished. The results will remain on the site for 2 weeks and will then be removed
I was going to stick a bid on an ambulance but forgot – probably for the best really.
With the new modified regs, DVLA are usually only willing to issue a V5 with “motorhome” if it was built and first registered as such – i.e. home converters now get the description “van with windows” or something,
They had put this in place a few months ago but after a lot of fuss they’ve already recinded it. My sprinter converted inside was changed just last week by the dvla based on a couple of pics, no questions asked.
