It’s odd, the cassette is much cheaper than last week but the derailleur and pro shifter have gone up.

Also, 11 speed 11-42 cassette is £14.99. I got it for gravel bike when it was £22.99. It’s heavier than shimano slx cassette but who cares for that price. It works perfectly fine with grx.

I haven’t but afaik, Microshift Advent X has a different pull ratio to Shimano so you need to match their mech and shifter but the cassette spacing is dictated by 10s chain spec and works fine.

I had a couple of theses 11-48 10s on order with an 11s Deore mech, to go with an old XT 10 shifter. A 1×10 conversion on one bike, SS to gears for summer riding.

I saw this and at the same time read the single review which suggested it’s also made of cheese?

If it’s the same build quality as their all steel 8spd Acolyte cassette, then I’ve been running it for 9mths now and it’s barely showing any wear.

Ordered a cassette, not sure why you wouldn’t for a tenner, quite glad I dithered when it was £20 now…

I’ll see how well it plays with a Deore (5100) mech.

They are made of cheese. May be ok for a normal bike but on my eeb that get trashed in a month or 2. At first I thought it was becasu I miss shifted or something but I’m now on my 4th and this time I replaced the slipping cog with an older Shimano one of the same size and bingo! no more jumping cog. It’s the 18t I destroy as it’s the one I pedal into jumps on. I imagine I’ll go back to a sunrace 50t 10 speed and see if that dies as quick.

Well blimey! Ordered it Saturday lunchtime it turned up about 18:00 today! That’s with bogo Evri delivery, that never happens.

Just put it on and trundled up and down the road on it and it seems just fine.

Points to note though: there’s a hoofing great jump from gear 2-1 it goes 40>48 so that last shift is like flipping through 2 or 3 gear in one go, they had to eek the range out somehow, I think I’d have preferred gear 2 to be 42t, but beggars can’t be choosers eh.

And I noticed on the stand that when shifting from the 34t (3) to 40t (2) the inside cage on the mech was making very slight transitional rubbing contact with the 48t, I had to add a slight extra turn to the B stop to make it sit a tad lower and clear on that penultimate shift. Basically the mech isn’t designed for a cassette that ramps up quite so steeply.

With the suspension slight loaded it shouldn’t be a problem but I can see people getting a set-up that appears to shift up and down the block beautifully on the stand, taking it out for a ride and clattering their mech (potentially into the wheel) on the first big climb when the inner cage catches that big sprocket under load.

Finish is basic also just painted black so that’s going to wear off the teeth with about 5 minutes of riding not one for the kit snobs 😉 but definitely suits a cheapskate like me 30:48 is a plenty low enough ratio IMO…

I see the acolyte shifters are oos at wiggle.

Would sram 8 speed (x4?) shifters move the correct amount of cable to make them compatible?

Got one of the mechs to try with 11 and 10 speed. Someone on here said it can’t be used for 11 speed, we’ll see!

The Pinned TV guy was less than impressed with the quality/durability of the clutch and the placement of the switch which got damaged. So we will see how that goes.
