I’ve replaced the freehub bearings in my pro 2, put it back together and it binds/drags. Took it apart, noticed that the outer of the pair of small bearings isn’t flush, but no amount of tw*tting it with a hammer/drift will get it flush. Should it be? All the seals & spacers are in place and seated properly so it can only be the slightly proud bearing that’s making it bind. Top tips anyone?

Have you remembered the little washer that sits between the freehub and hub shell? (iirc)

Also that it’s important that the washer between the two freehub bearings is free to move, and not static and contacting the two bearings? (unless you’ve already checked that 🙂 )

Don’t hit it with a hammer?

Everything in the right order? Heat (bucket of boiling water) should expand the freehub body enough to move the bearings round.

Those bearings definitely shouldn’t sit proud, we normally press them in using a vice (preferably with the correct sized presses).
