As above, what’s the preferred way of stashing a tube under the saddle?

Having bikes with different wheel sizes I don’t want to carry 2 tubes in my pack or forget to take the correct one.

I had thought of cable ties but that would rely on me having cutters with me.

Any super-cheap Velcro strap things about?

    TIA

I have two of these https://www.granite-design.com/rockband strapped under my toptube, but they’d work under your seat too

Either grab some Velcro One-wrap which sticks to itself or get some Voile straps.

I love the Backcountry Research Mutherload straps – I’ve got a couple and can very highly recommend them. Don’t tend to use them myself for under saddle, although they can be fitted there.

Not the cheapest things in the world, but they do what they say they will and are really well made.

Alpkit do lengths of actual velcro for a few quid.

dont confuse cheap hook and loop with real velcro, the real stuff is actually superb.

I use a couple of toe straps from old style pedals. They are still readily available and lock tight but unlock easily.

I have a fully equipped Klickfix-compatible saddle bag for each size of tube I need, but I’m a high roller like that.

I’ve seen some velcro strap things for £14! 14 pounds! I use a removable zip tie on my ss, or those velcro cable ties, a few pence on eBay.

I use a web strap I had lying around. It has a clasp that locks on itself like a web belt so it doesn’t come open. Been on the bike for bloody ages now…..

Wrap the tube in something so when you come to use it it’s not all worn away.

I use the Louri strap from Cyclorise. Similar to a BackCountry Research Strap, but British made and a bit cheaper from memory.

I use electrical tape to stash things under my seat. Its a hardtail and on a dropper. Haven’t dropped anything in 3 years of using this method.

You mean like a saddle pack? You can put a multi tool, levers and patches in there too!!!

The Mt Zoom strap has a rubber backing so that you can have it on your seatpost without it slipping down, works really well. I have one on my commuter. When I’m on the MTB I’ll have one at the back with a tube and pump and another on the stem with just a tube.

Also has a reflective bit on it.

A small saddle bag like this one:

Or just go tubeless; in the unlikely event you get a flat, see it as a sign that you should go and sit in a pub until your wife comes and picks you up.

Had a tube taped to my seatpost using insulation tape for about 2 years with no issues. The tube was fine when I came to use it too.

The cheapest sadfle bag from decathlon. Pretty much a small bag with a velcro strap on it and only a few of your English pounds. Enough space for a 29er tube, set of levers and pack of patches. The strap oilsp it all right so no rattles.

    This one…

Can’t get links to work on mobile, it’s the b twin 100 one

Not under saddle but I have the Dakine Hot Laps on my main bike. Tube, tyre levers and CO2 canisters. Could also squeeze a small multi tool in as well. I actually reckon you could mount it under the saddle

For an occasional use item like a tube it’s best to put the tube in a bag and use insulation tape to hold it under the saddle imo.

On mine it also stops mud getting sprayed through the cut out in the middle of the saddle. 😃

    Cheers all.

Ordered some cheap 30cm Velcro straps of Amazon.

Will out tube in a bag too.

    Thanks again.

My cheapo straps from Amazon arrived:

    10 of them for £6.49 – bargain.

    So, do they work…….

Yep, seems ok – ignore the split saddle, I have a new one to put on – need to bag or wrap the tube but all good!

Will now do the same on the kids bikes.

Got a link for those amazon straps? Knowing my luck I’ll end up ordering tiny or huge ones in error!
