POSS FS: New GT Sanction 1.0 (Medium)
Due to a change in riding (and situation), and this beast not getting used to its full potential (getting older and more of a pussy on the trails) it's potentially up for sale. At this stage I am gauging responses and interest as I am not letting this go for silly money, I don't want to go below the asking price. If there is a serious/genuine buyer interested I am prepared to sell. If not I shall keep it rather than let it go for less than its worth.
GT Sanction 1.0 2008 model (purchased end 2009) size MEDIUM
Was purchased September 2009 but however not ridden until December due to injury, so it sat, as new, (with reflectors still on lol) in my spare room. Has probably seen 20 miles of use since then over 2 trips. The brakes still have not bedded in and it still has the stickers on the frame.
I’m not after any swaps of any kind, and I will not be splitting
It cost me £1550 (reduced from £2500), since purchasing it I have upgraded a few things:
Brand new Truvativ Holzfeller World Cup bars in Tungsten Grey £40
Brand new Thomson 50mm stem (the stock 90mm was too long for a bike of this nature) £67
Superstar Lock on grips £8
SDG Bel Air RL saddle £45
‘New’ Hope 34.9mm seat clamp. £18
Wellgo B54 pedals (BEST I have used, better than Easton Flat boys, 5050s etc) £25
The bike still looks as new as the day that I bought it, there are no scratches, marks, cable rub, nothing at all, it still has the ‘showroom shine’ to it.
I want £1375 for it (Due to it being brand new and money spent on upgrades since [over £200])
You won’t find a better deal out there, the 2010 version is retailing at £3.5k.
Truly this will be like purchasing a new bike.
No ‘chancers’ and photo collectors please. Buyer will be over the moon with it, it has a wishlist of components on it and I am suffering a loss selling it, but I am a hardtail man, and ride only XC, and road now.
There is simply no ‘Big Hit’ machine out there like this for the money, it truly is awesome. I’m just not doing much hardcore riding.
Raise the saddle, wind the 2-step down and you have the perfect AM rig
Drop the saddle and full 160mm up front and you have a versatile big hit machine, like having two bikes in one.
Quick spec lowdown:
Rockshox Lyrik 2-step (work PERFECTLY, no ‘issues’ as some of the earlier models had)
Fox DHX Air 4.0 rear shock
XT front and rear mechs
XT disc brakes (180mm front and rear)
SAINT double and bash crank set 32/22t)
Thomson stem and seat post
Truvativ WC bars
SDG Bel Air RL saddle
DT Swiss X420 rims on WTB SuperDuty DH hubs (20mm front / 135 x 12mm rear)
Kenda Nevegal 2.3 tyres (dual compound, folding)
Receipt and all paperwork/manuals included in owners pack.

My Flickr page here (recent photos – a couple of weeks old) Does not show new 50mm Thomson stem as this was only fitted last week.
Cash on collection on pick up (preferred) from SE London
Delivery can be arranged but would have to find HUGE box to fit the rig in, so may cause some delay in getting it out. Most shops don’t have boxes that big. It’s a burly beast. So I would ask buyers to be patient whilst I source portation materials.
IF posted, direct bank transfer (preffered) or PP with fees covered/gift (to my verified account)
Postage would be around £25 due to sheer weight (the cheap online deals don’t cater for something this heavy/big)
mariecheesemanATymailDOTcom for any information.
Let’s keep thread answers on topic please.
(please no: “I’d have it if I had the money” or “nice bike” or “would you sell me the seat clamp”)
Serious, interested parties only.
