    Hi all
Decided that painting the forks for the balance bike can’t be that hard so I’m going to give it a go. The frame is going to be Candy Red so trying to decide on the colours for the forks.
My initial plan was black crown/dropouts with gold (kashima) stanchions. I’m now also pondering all black.
    What do you guys/gals think?
    Here’s the forks and bike:

    So, vote
    1 for black/gold
    2 for all black 🙂

As you’ve gone to the trouble of making them the shape of a suspension fork, you might as well keep that going and make them look like a suspension fork. Any reason why you’re painting and not anodising?

What are your plans for that when it’s been out grown? I’ve a mate with a one year old that will need a balance bike somewhere down the line.

    3) black tops and stanchions, red bottoms – I would vote 1, but think there will be a bit too much black all together with the black front wheel – that or:
    4) red

I’m sure one of the photoshop experts can help give an idea what it will look like (calling Jamie…)

Bomber Z1 orange ftw. edit – scrap that if the frame’s going to be red…

Quick (not very good) render of what they could look like (EDIT – my vote is black and gold)

Going black and gold. I’ve sprayed the black and have the gold spray so will do that tomorrow. Unfortunately I can’t get the stanchions anodized as the forks are fully assembled now..I’m hoping the spray job will look good..

I’d go with leaving the crown & stanchions as they are and paint the lowers White

Put the whole thing under the mop and make it bright and bling!
That much work deserves to shine

Any reason not to go for white/kashmina? Would go better with red shirley? Complete with Fox decals on the lowers….. would look great I recon.

Also, please put a specialized Robaix sticker on it 😀

The fram is beautiful my vote would be raw frame and paint the lowers white.

I’d leave the stanchions, stanchion coloured as they are now. Just paint the lowers and crown.

Right, I’ve gone black and gold. Pretty pleased with my 1st attempt at spraying..
Looking at Yak’s Photoshop I’ll need to get the seatpost anodized gold now..
