so following my first excursion on a rigid singlespeed to a trail centre i just wondered what you’re preferences would be? gears or suspension? i’m pretty sure after last night i would go for a pair of forks any day of the week. i was aware of muscles in my back last night that i dont think i’ve felt before.

Having ridden a rigid bike around kirro, dalbeattie and mabie, it would forks every time.

If it was a choice of one or the other, suspension.

I have no desire to make my singlespeed rigid.. It does have some rather mediocre forks tho.

All this is making me think/realise I should put slick tyres & the big chainwheel back on the rigid 2 x 9 I have almost finished building 😆

If good brakes are already present I would take the forks (mostly)
I ride a rigid SS and love it (mostly) but there are occasions when my arms hurt. Carbon forks and bars and foam grips help though.

Gears (already have a rigid, geared bike… Will probably never own a suspended, ungeared bike)
