What brand(s) of bike do you own? Pick all that apply
“Maximum number of choice allow: 3”
Really? Only 3? 😯Posted 7 years ago
Chipps says you can only have three favourites.Posted 7 years ago
but But BUT this is STW, where n+1 for number of bike you should own is (or should be) in the rulz! 😉
… and anyways all my bikes are special to me! If Chipps heart isn’t big enough to love all his bike, why are we penalized?Posted 7 years ago
too many categories – too few responses!Posted 7 years ago
No Scott, Surly or Salsa? That’s just the ‘S’s. Going to be a winner for ‘Other’Posted 7 years ago
+1 no Surly!!Posted 7 years ago
Was about to say no Scott.Posted 7 years ago
Best if my selection of “Other” is interpreted 3 times 😉
My 3 favourite brands aren’t listed.
*feels very niche*Posted 7 years ago
No Salsa for me either, at least I got my Singular in.Posted 7 years ago
No Dartmoor either… feel insecure now.Posted 7 years ago
Should we just keep voting in batches of 3 until we get them all in?Posted 7 years ago
+1 for no ScottPosted 7 years ago
at the moment Orange is the top scoring named manufacturer, so good to see STW stereotypes enforced…
Would it have hurt to sort them alphabetically?Posted 7 years ago
Naming all the larger bike brands in the UK was harder than we thought, so we’ll add more as we realise who (else) we’ve missed out. We’ll add a few votes in for the missing ‘S’ brands…
As for only three brands? We had to draw a line somewhere as we’d get too many votes for pub bikes, road bikes and rusty heaps in the back of the shed 🙂Posted 7 years ago
6 bikes, three brands, all represented apart from ‘chinese eBay special’ frame.Posted 7 years ago
this is an interesting poll, but then we were due one… 🙂
Why am I gfetting “Maximum number of allowed choices: 1” when I try to pick the three I actually own then? I know my bikes are all similar, but they’re from 3 different brands.Posted 7 years ago
It just told me I could have only 1, sounds like my wife, she’s wrong too.Posted 7 years ago
Only allowing one for me too now.Posted 7 years ago
Lol @ stumpyjon 😀Posted 7 years ago
Chipps says you can only have three favourites.
I would have thought Chipps was too busy trying to track down the owner of a ’03 plate green Vauxhall, than wasting his time laying down poll rules?
Posted 7 years ago
No Jones, Dekerf or Mosaic; so all mine are an ‘other.’
Thought Jones would have been an option, there seems to be a few on here 😀Posted 7 years ago
03 plate… 🙂Posted 7 years ago

Me Too!Posted 7 years ago
Works now.Posted 7 years ago
Merida and Tomac account for four of my bikes and are also missing. They’re more mainstream than some that are there.Posted 7 years ago
Also Dean who I will accept are rather niche.
I clicked “other” and it gave my vote to Ellsworth. I can’t afford an Ellsworth…Posted 7 years ago
Looks like Fisher has been written out of history as well..Posted 7 years ago
/coughPosted 7 years ago
I voted Cotic and Other, but I see Cotic and Salsa in bold italics.
(edit: and Scott appeared as an option only after I submitted)Posted 7 years ago
I’d like a Keewee too but think that’s probably a bit much to ask being as they’ve not made anything for at least 5 years.Posted 7 years ago
it’s rigged I tell thee!Posted 7 years ago
And no Claud Butler… I mean, for my mate you understand, his commuter…Posted 7 years ago
Knock at the Dawes?Posted 7 years ago
Would lead to a Revolution.
That would be the Pinnacle.
The only thing remotely niche that I own is a Marin – only 4% of STWers have them. In fact, it’s rarer than Turner, Lapierre or Yeti.Posted 7 years ago
Apparently, I own a Salsa.
I don’t and never have done (but would like to)
I do own a Gary Fisher and a Dawes, neither or which were on the list when I submitted, and for both of which I chose “Other” which doesn’t appear in my listPosted 7 years ago
Sheesh, hope your advertisers are all represented!Posted 7 years ago
On the wish list, not owned by me.
You need to see the daily mail for proper Poll failures – they ask questions can’t be answered by the options they offer – and their readers answer anyway
So to conduct the poll in Daily Mail style would be:
Q What brand(s) of bike do you own?
A Yes / No
and two thirds of us would answer ‘Yes’ 🙂Posted 7 years ago
Is my Boardman too niche for Singletrack?Posted 7 years ago
Or is it niche that it’s a Boardman that actually gets ridden off road and doesn’t live in a garage all the time?
Naming all the larger bike brands in the UK was harder than we thought
This fills me with cheer!
Back in the day, it was boutique USA, or better built Taiwanese, or a few UK framebuilders who were a bit roadie still really.
Good to see UK builders, and UK brands sourcing abroad, getting plenty of attention these days.
Oh, and Orange should be RIGHT up there in my opinion.Posted 7 years ago
