    Well, I made a few batches of beetroot this year, some with chilli some without but they taste like they are missing something! Now, relish and chutneys, it’s been a great year for those (apple and chilli, beetroot and plum, spicy green tomato…..) great with some good cheese and a nice red wine!

    I’m getting there with the help of some red plonk wot morrisons had at 1/2 price. (hic)


    Any home picklers out there ?
    Just tasted my first self pickled onion, crunchy, slightly sweet with a delicate piquancy, ii tried pickling chillies a couple of years back but they went bad in the jar.
