Thanks I appreciated that eddiebaby. We’re going to order a metallic print mounted on an aluminium panel.

Not taken recently, but I did recently get this film negative drum scanned in order to make a 30″x30″ print of it to hang at home.If you’re not familiar with the process, drum scanning results in a much higher quality file; a typical high res lab scan will result in a file around 30mb from a medium format negative. A drum scan results in a 150mb file!

I’ve had it printed up on Super Gloss paper and then mounted onto dibond for use in a 1m sq frame. It looks amazing; can’t wait to hang it. I realise it won’t be everyone’s idea of art you hang on a wall but this is probably my favourite image I’ve taken.

This is a work colleague of mine and taken in the foyer of our office. I love these little improvised moments; it shows you don’t need a studio to make an interesting portrait.

We’ve had some crazy sea mist in Vancouver today. This was taken through the glass of my office building, with my phone camera. The lighting is nice, though.

    It is indeed – gorgeous.

I’m drifting a little in my focus. I don’t have a particular ‘project’ other than a tentative idea based around Brighton Pier, tentatively called ‘End of the Pier’, but really it’s just an excuse to head out and engage with interesting people. I do like this one however:

Hi GT. Remember when I posted some architecture images I liked (Joel Tjintjelaar or Julia Anna Gospodarou probably) and you said they did nothing for you? That image above evokes the same in me. I love a lot of your portraiture but I look at that and think “why?”. I don’t know what I’m missing, I don’t feel drawn to ask who she is and how she got there.
It probably says more about me and my approach to the rest of my species than it does about your photography.

I love this thread but it does show me up for being bloody useless with a camera.
There is an awfully lot of talent on display here. Chapeau!!!!

That image above evokes the same in me.

To be honest I can see why you say that. What there is here that is interesting is a little oblique; the image sits st the cusp of what can be sustained as interesting. FWIW, what I see that holds my interest is her slight awkwardness, which makes her interesting to me.

Not in the last month, but I’m pleased with this, as it took a bit of thought and patience to get into the right place at the right time, with the canoe pointing in the right direction in a gently moving stream and the drips at the right time. It also took quite a few shots…but is one of the very few occasions I’ve actually left home with a shot in mind.

Still nasty stuff from me technically speaking, but I’ve given up the heavy post-processing (kind of). I have a little 35mm Diana Mini which I love, so am now just using an emulator on my phone camera now. Just point and shoot and take what comes out with no further processing other than cropping of the nasty white border the emulator adds. Loads of fun and a much quicker workflow.
