Harbour Lights v close – very very meh

The Cormorant in Portchester next to the castle (on Castle street) is better.

Or wander into Port Solent for a good range of chain style bars.

edit – Hostel – do you mean hostelry/pub or actual hostel as in cheap hotel? Above answers for beer – not a clue about a place to kip!
