Was an incredible day.  Riders did great, organisation was spot on, track mint, atmosphere fantastic.

    Best one yet for me.

Awesome as always. Such a good day- big thanks to the organisers and marshalls. May do an early one tomorrow and have a run down it before heading back to Wharny.

Only criticism is the new barrack tavern after party didn’t get going 😔

Cheers folks, glad you all enjoyed yourselves. I’ll chuck some proper thoughts up tomorrow but for now my 18 hour day is done and I’m off to sleep!

I imagine all the choobers will be beavering away to get their vlogs out. There’ll probably be more videos than ever before coming out during the week.

Does anyone know why there was a really long gap in the first runs culminating in a helicopter circling around? Hope no one got too badly damaged.

The day had a strange effect on me. I started to think it might be fun to ride a bike again. Maybe I was just high on all the dust.

There was a guy stretchered off at that point. Stacked it on the second gap I think. Saw him being carried down the fire road. He was sat up and talking though so maybe a femur or other lower limb injury.
It might’ve been the dust that had that effect on you- there were some other things in the air though. “Smelled like a festival” was what my son
    said!

Pretty much this. Properly spannered, but Woodhead Mountain Rescue got it all under control and we had a report back from his family during the tear down that everything was going OK from A&E.

Like @steveh says – a long old day (I did a mere 15 hours), but it seemed to go off really well from where I was. A pretty decent attempt at rubbish disposal from the spectators too, which has been a big issue in previous years – thank you for that.

Thanks again to all who came, bought stuff, hung out, cheered the riders on and survived the dust. I think it was probably the best one yet for a whole bunch of reasons. 3 years since the last one so it’s a little hard to remember what they were like but the atmosphere was amazing, so many people around and lots of noise for a whole range of folks. Racers from 10-78 on the day, all having fun on their bikes in the woods.

The incident during first runs was a reasonably significant injury but rider was conscious, chatting etc. Mountain resuce requested an ambulance, heli guys didn’t have anything else on and decided to attend. Think they just fancied a trip to the woods in the sunshine 🙂

Feedback welcomed if anyone has any!

Being relatively new to the world of MTB this was my first event, absolutely awesome day out. Really good vibe trackside and the bomb hole arena. Blinding choice having Bradfield bars and a pizza oven too.

Popped my biking photography cherry too

How has approximately 8 minutes of riding left me feeling so tired?!

Despite having a tough time on the day because he felt too poorly to even take photos, my youngest has now declared that he wants to ride it next year! Which I think is surely what any organiser wants – an event that looks fun enough that people want to enter?

Having not done a race like this before I was really surprised how much you can hear the crowd as you pass. Thanks to everyone who shouted something or made an ‘oooh…’ noise when it looked like I might not hold it together. Apologies to any young ears that heard loud swears as I nearly missed the b line and had to haul on the brakes.

I liked the atmosphere, seemed like it stayed the right side of ‘party’ to still be family friendly. Really wanted to buy a Banana Industries shirt but poorly child care got in the way, the Samosas were outstanding, and I was sad to get home and realise I had a free beer token that I hadn’t got to use! Will aim to be back next year I think, and definitely want to head to play on the track before then.
