I’m mid 30s, i’ve only been down Speedwell Cavern but enjoyed that (so did my kids and parents). There are a lot of steps down, then an underground boat ride (quite claustrophobic) to the end where you can get out and have a look in a cave, then the same back. Our guide was superb.
You can get a discounted ticket to do that and another at the same time but we didn’t bother.

Ideally we want the one that scares the Mrs the most 😆

Tip the guide to leave her at the other end, that should do the job 😉

    😀 Nice

Anyone else experienced the wonderment of the Castleton cave system?

You want to scare her? Obvious.

Titan, just outside Castleton. You need permission for this one though.

Yes, I am aware of Titan, was thinking a more recreational visit on this occasion.

Make sure everyone watches “The Descent” before you go.

It’ll be more fun for everyone that way.

Speedwell is a nice trip, I’ve also done the Devil’s arse which was more fun

I’ve done the speedwell and Peak(devils arse) tours, the later is definitely superior!

I took the kids to Blue John in the week – enjoyed it far more than I expected to. They do say “involves some steps” on the notice right next to the “tickets non-refundable bit” – what they don’t tell you is that its 294 steps!

Not a pretty cave as such but worth the trip – you can walk up the old road if you want to make a round trip from Castleton.
