Similar to me, so MTB is about all I have time for………..usually when my two are in bed.

    Before kids I used to:-
    Play 5 a side football
    Play squash
Go on walking holidays (mainly Lake District)
Play video games (still do a bit of that)
    Dabble in photography
    Listen to music very loudly
Have a season ticket at Crystal Palace

Some awesome replies here. Catching lobsters? Om nom!
It makes a bit of a change from the usual dating profile stuff: “I like reading and watching films”. Seriously love? Who doesn’t?!

I run in summer, it’s easier to get out for a run than out to the trails for a ride. Skiing in winter – alpine and xc. And yoga.
Squash, but my mates are a bit flaky, so it’s rare.

I play guitar and sing! Have played in all manner of bands, and backed songwriters, but currently have an acoustic duo with the drummer from my last band on percussion, we are called Small Mercies. In the past I have had canoes and done regular river canoeing, have done a bit of rock climbing. Volunteered as a Countryside Ranger and done gardening and tree work for people. Ive given up all but the Bikes and the Music, but I still have to walk the dogs.

I suppose mountain biking is my hobby, motocross is my sport.

On the side i also do a bit of bouldering (hopeless at it though), bit of trail running, kayaking. But generally speaking I just like trying new things and soaking up the experiences they offer.

Gardening here too. Its really quite theraputic after stressful times at work. Replaced the whole back garden last year and its been good to watch how things develop. A godsend was the RHS plant selector website which gives you plant options based upon your soil type, orientation, colours etccc. God, what have I become!

It’s far too late for an edit so I’m adding that I trail run, it’s not a hobby per se’ but it’s something I do when not riding or bouncing on the sea and helps fitness and mind control my love of fine wine and addiction for peanut M&M’s.. 8)
I too dabble in photography but nekid ladies are hard to come these days so I settle for industrial sculpture and select landscape scenes. I also play guitar, but again it’s not a hobby more of something to do when sofa vegging, flamenco being my preferred stylee which I learned whilst on an extended windsurfing trip to Southern Spain… 8)

kitesurfing and paddle boarding here – in fact it’s now become my main hobby since moving to the witterings and time off has become sparse – I live 50 yards from the beach now so much easier to bag an hour kiting than head to the hills and go biking.

    But I love it all!

    Staring out of the window.

The older I get, the simpler things seem to be getting (or perhaps I’m getting simpler… 😕 ). If I’m not riding my bike, I’m reading a book – and vice-versa.

    Chess.

Photography – usually gigs and promo stuff for mates.
Jacking that in though as I’m tired of putting in so much work for so little thanks.

Guitar – been playing on and off for 30 years, have learned one chord per decade.
    Coming along nicely tbh.

Hiking – in a climbing club but don’t climb much, so hiking it is. On the committee for years, but live too far away now, thank God. Thankless task.

Babysitting. 4 year old nephew and 6 month old grand daughter.
    Love it.

Well, there was snowboarding, road cycling, sailing, home brewing, gardening, trying to play the ukulele and being a general bon vivant until the triplets came along 15 months ago. Haven’t done much of any of these since, but I’m hoping I might be able to pick up one or two hobbies again in around 2030.

Although, I’ve recently started longbow archery, as it’s something I can do with my Father that isn’t golf.

Rallying is my main hobby, with mtb being second, have got a 205 rally car that I drive, and navigate/co drive for a couple of friends in their cars (MK2 Escort RS2000 & Hillman Avenger). Spectate pretty often too, this weekend will be 3rd running…….

In the winter I shoot quite a bit, lamping & walked up/rough game days. Have got 2 shotguns & 2 air rifles.

Have a dslr Canon, used to be keen on photography, particularly with rallying as the subject, but got bored of it, and it’s arse carrying dslr & lenses around, my phone can take stunning photo’s, is always with me & it’s normally the things you don’t plan that make the best shots.

Did have a trials bike (beta techno 250cc) for a couple of years, but sold it last month as I just haven’t used it enough.

Grow a fair bit of salad & veg in the summer, got a small poly tunnel in the garden, it’s orsumz.

All of the above isn’t really conducive to having money in the bank, but it’s fun, and I’m not skint………………yet. Toying with the idea of getting into enduro motorbikes instead of having a rally car as it’s cheaper & would save me £1200 a year in storage costs.

I’m surprised at how few footballers there are on here, but how many photographers we have!

Have a dslr Canon, used to be keen on photography, particularly with rallying as the subject, but got bored of it, and it’s arse carrying dslr & lenses around, my phone can take stunning photo’s, is always with me & it’s normally the things you don’t plan that make the best shots.

I’m the same, apart from the rally bit. I rarely use my dslr due the inconvenience of its size and tend to just stick with a decent point and shoot that fits in my pocket.

Things I do now, in order of regularity:

    5aside football
    Sunday league football
    PS3 – FIFA
    MTBing, local and trail centres
    running
    walking
    photgraphy + subsequent editing

Things I’ve done in the past:

    tennis
    canoeing
    painting

I’d like to do more reading in place of PS3 and try fell running.

Always fancied fishing again as mentioned by crossland? Used to float fish rivers when I was younger but always fancied carp fishing. Never knew what gear to buy though.

I forgot squash, every Tuesday, would love to get back into 5 a side, or 7’s, great fun & really good fitness, and when fit I’m actually pretty good. Played the odd bit of rugby till last year, but it’s not something you can do casually without getting hurt.

Good to see a range of hobbies here, having one would be a bit dull.

    Other than cycling I…

    Run (now), quite enjoying that.
    Read quite a lot
    Draw a lot
Brew my own beer and wine
    Video games
    Chopping up wood is fun
I’ve stopped doing photography now but I’m sure I’ll pick that up again at some point.
I’m just in the process of looking for the best way to get into painting. Gouache seems to be the best entry point.

Climbing, mostly indoors but the occasional foray into the real world when its a bit cooler. Rubbish at it though! Also getting back into the running, i’m still not sure if I actually enjoy it but it seems to improve my fitness faster than cycling ever has.

Also a bit of photography, cooking, Warhammer 40k thought the cost of that is putting me off. I might get a cheap fishing rod soon, make the most of living near the sea.

Daughter takes up most nights and weekends with homework, swimming, gymnastics, ice skating, horse riding, parties etc…. but I ride or run 5/6 times a week usually after she’s in bed. I play a bit of golf but not enough to get my handicap down and I also fish (all types) and tie fishing flies which my wife thinks is the nerdiest hobby in the world, and considering the people I meet at demos she may have a point.

This is quite a coincidence as I was going to start a similar thread on Sunday.

I went to a presentation on Sunday evening for a trip that one of my son’s is going on and at the beginning there was a Japanese Taiko drum group at the start of the presentation.

It struck me how many obscure pastimes there must be. To be playing Japanese drums in a village hall on a Sunday evening is pretty niche!

I then started to ponder what the most obscure would be and was going to see what you lot could come up with.

I don’t have time for any hobbies (in between family, cycling and work)!!
