Was riding a 18 inch Five 2011 frame before it got stolen.

Noticed that the new 27.5 inch they dont do an 18. Only a 17 then 19. The 17 inch has a 3mm shorter top tube and an effective top tube of 2mm shorter.

Will the 17 feel similar in terms of sizing?

I just think the 19 will be too big.

Think I’m going for the large, I’m 5ft 11 and was recommended the large by a trusted bike shop. How tall are you?

im 6 foot but ran a 50mm stem on my 18 inch. Id rather it be a touch too small and have the seat higher so i can maneuver it better downhill.

Someone else on this site demoed a new five. He was 5ft 10 and said he needed a large, he felt the medium was too small for him. I’m still not sure to be honest and need to compare both the 17 and 19 inch bikes. Wondering how thes different geometry, for the new tyre size, affects the overall size and feel of the bike.
