Mine: Scrawny

I won’t link to it because I got a ban last time I did anything involving naked humans but if you look for a kickstarter project called Embrace – The documentary that will create global change this is what triggered it. There is a picture of a naked woman but it’s not sexual or owt. I’ve no idea whether her campaign will make any difference but, imo, making people feel positive about having an ‘ordinary’ body isn’t a bad thing.

I have a 12 year old daughter who’s increasingly conscious of how she looks and yet my son beyond some vague desire to have a six pack is really not bothered. I don’t know if women are so ‘down’ on their bodies because of how they are made, genetically, or how they are conditioned but it does bother me that my daughter is already so concerned.

I guess my ‘one word’ isn’t terribly complimentary but I can honestly say I don’t feel the need to look away when I see myself naked in the mirror which is probably the best decider of if you’re comfortable in your skin?

so, what’s your word?
